The flying Antelopes started the game on the brighter note, Aniefiok Godspower should had given the home side the lead in the 11th minute, but his solo effort was not strong enough to beat Edafe in goal for The Uyo base side.
4 minutes later, Akwa Starlets came close to score first as Effiong’s effort rolls through the face of goal, nobody to make the contact.
Nothing would stop the Dakkada boys from taking the lead in the 18th minute, the Uyo base team got a freekick at the edge of Rangers box, captain Aniekan Ekpe swung in inch perfect cross which met Isaac Ajayi at the near post unmarked, and Ajayi made no mistake as he slotted it into the back of the net
Caleb Esu’s felt comfortable after the lead and took the game to Rangers, with the home side giving the ball away easily, they punished so dearly at the brink of half time.
A long ball from a quick counter attack by the away team met Ifeagwu who pushed the ball forward for lonely Isaac George and latter hit a low shot past Seidu in goal for Rangers as Akwa Starlets went into the break leading 2 nil.
The second half resumed with Rangers desperate to bail themselves out, Nonso came close in the 46th minute but his effort was well saved.
Rangers still knocking, Ifeanyi George saw his diving header saved by Edafe in the 65th minute.
4 minutes later it was Edafe again who stood tall to deny Seka close range strike.
