Antonio Giovinazzi will remain at Alfa Romeo ahead of the 2020 season thus partnering Kimi Raikkonen confirmed on Monday by the Italian team.
Giovinazzi who joined Alfa Romeo team as a race driver in 2019 has scored 4 points after 19 races and he will partner Kimi for the second season.
Team boss Fred Vasseur who confirmed the development said:
“Antonio has done really well this year and I am extremely pleased to be able to confirm he will stay with Alfa Romeo racing for 2020.
“Antonio has emerged as a very quick driver even along side as tough a benchmark as Kimi, and we expect him to develop even further as his experience grows, his technical feedback work ethics and positive approach will help us continue to push our team forward”
Meanwhile, the announcement will have a great impact on Hulkenberg who will be replaced by Ocon at Renault ahead of next season.
Nico who had his eyes fixed on Giovinazzi’s seat at Alfa Romeo will now move to other motor racing series.
