Nigeria’s senior women basketball team, D’Tigress have qualified for a second successive final of the FIBA AfroBasketWomen championship after beating Mali 79-58 in the semifinal.
The defending champions are arguably the highest scoring side in the championship and replicated the form which saw them beat Tunisia, cameroun, and DRC with ease in the semi-final.
D’Tigress were smoking hot in offence in the first quarter, winning 25-12, the Malians found their feet in the second quarter but lost by a point, 17-16. The Malians trailed Nigeria by 14 points at half-time. Otis Hughley’s girls controlled the game afterwards till the fourth quarter.
Nigeria will face Senegal in the final, in the repeat of the 2017 edition in Bamako, Mali on Sunday.
